CDNsun Review

cdnsun review

CDNsun is a Czech content delivery network that offers a wide range of budget features.

Network size doesn’t tell you much on its own, but the CDNsun’s 70 + locations can’t impress you. You have more than twice the exposure to POPs of other competitions with 32 in Europe, 23 in North and South America and 17 in Oceania.

About CDNsun

Multiple CDN forms are available: origin pull (Content is stored and documented on your server), origin push (CDNsun host content), live CDNsun-broadcast video from your site, and live CDNsun-streamed videos.

CDSun’s * .r.worldssl.net domain has free shared SSL support. A custom Let’s Encrypt SSL Certificate can be provided to cover your own domain free of charge or you can use a customized certificate of your own and CDNsun can enable it free of charge in any case.

CDNsun Company Overview

CDNsun is a content distribution network located in the Czech Republic since 2012. They have offices in the USA and the EU and have concentrated heavily on expanding their PoP network, due to their limited scale. Some of their most important customers include:

    • The Wizards
    • Blender Institute
    • Telmax
    • XT Card

This CDNsun analysis will cover all aspects of their network and prices. I hope that by the end of this review you will understand better what this CDN provider offers and will be able to decide if they are the right provider for you.

CDNsun Network

CDNsun is still relatively new to the CDN market, as mentioned above. However, they have been able to implement more than 70 points of presence in their network since they started. They are strong in the EU, but certain servers are so close together that users can not improve speed much, although there is a closer server. It is recommended that you first check from where your visitors come and then determine if the network of a particular CDN provider fits you well.

This means that the network map of CDNsun and a complete list of PoPs are described in the following screenshots.

CDNsun Pricing Review

CDNsun is still relatively new to the CDN market, as mentioned above. However, they have been able to implement more than 70 points of presence in their network since they started. They are strong in the EU, but certain servers are so close together that users can not improve speed much, although there is a closer server. It is recommended that you first check from where your visitors come and then determine if the network of a particular CDN provider fits you well.

This means that the network map of CDNsun and a complete list of PoPs are described in the following screenshots.

As illustrated above, the base price drops by $0.045 depending on your monthly minimum traffic volumes. To see a full price list of the costs per GB of traffic for each PoP location, check its transparent price section. Note that more bandwidth you use would increase the number of websites you can boost with CDNsun, but there is no mention on their website that they will increase only the number of websites you can use regardless of the plan you use.

You can also store the content directly on your servers with CDNsun. The first 20 GB of storage is free of charge and everything, in addition, costs a monthly fee.

CDNsun Review Conclusion

Overall, CDNsun has a fairly large network to be a relatively new CDN competitor. We also support other important functions such as HTTP/2, real-time data, push/pull sources, etc. While it is important to remember that some of their features are extra costs, you will have to generate more traffic (at least 2 TB a month if you want to add more areas to your account).

This should also be remembered that you pay substantially different rates per Gb of traffic if you have tourists from around the world. As shown in the price section, CDNsun prices depend on the position of the server and that varies considerably from the standard price of $0.045. Of course, you will benefit from reduced volume levels as you produce more traffic, but certain regions will remain substantially more costly than US PoP server locations, for example.

This CDNsun review, hopefully, has helped you decide whether CDNsun is the right choice for you or not. Remember to know where your guests come from before selecting a CDN provider to ensure the high bandwidth rates you did not expect are not paid.
