Microsoft

Microsoft has advertised an infringement by unknown hackers which have jeopardized the credentials of Microsoft technical support agent and gain access to some Microsoft emails.

Between January 1 and March 28, cyber criminals broke Microsoft’s network and compromised the credentials of the Microsoft support agent. The customer was informed by Microsoft on Friday via email, saying:

“The unauthorized access might have enabled unlicensed parties to access and/or view information on your email account (e.g. email address, email directories, subject lines and other email address names with which you communicate), but not the information in any e-mail or attachment” Immediately after Microsoft heard about this cyber incident, Microsoft deactivated the compromise credentials and stopped them from moving into any other unauthorized access.

Microsoft warns customers that you can receive phishing or other spam email as a consequence of this occurrence. You should be careful when received any emails from any misleading domain name, emails requesting personal data or payment, or requests from an unsolicited source.

“Microsoft confirmed that the attackers had viewed some of the account information, yet it was not clear why this particular information was viewed or how it was used.

However, none of the Microsoft customers affected by this incident directly, as a security practice, it is strongly recommended that customers reset their password.
