Florida Institute of Technology (also known as Florida Tech) was established originally to train space industry professionals who work at the Kennedy Space Center. The school offers undergraduate degrees in science, engineering and liberal arts as well as STEM education. The College of Engineering is home to approximately half of the student population. Students can enjoy water sports like surfing, kayaking, kayaking, and fishing because the school is located on the Space Coast of the Atlantic Ocean. The Florida Tech Panthers, who compete in the NCAA Division II Sunshine State Conference, offer a traditional college athletic outlet. You can also join more than 100 student organizations, including 10 sororities and fraternities.

Florida Tech has a number of science-focused institutes and research centers. These include the Wind and Hurricane Impact Research Laboratory (WHIRL) and the Institute for Marine Research. Ann Dunwoody was the first female four star general in the U.S Army and David King was the former director at the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.
